Casual clothes are recommended for the training day because some of the practical elements require working on the floor.

Please note lunch will not be provided on the day, however refreshments are available.

Who Is The Course For

The HSE Emergency First Aid At Work training is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is suited for first aiders in low risk working environments.

Number Of Candidates

This course is suitable for up to 12 people.

Course Outline

The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Managing an incident
  • The priorities of first aid
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation
  • Shock
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Bleeding
  • Common workplace injuries.


On successful completion of the Emergency First Aid At Work training course and final assessment, candidates will receive the HSE Approved, nationally recognised, Emergency First Aid at Work – EFAW Certificate.
